Myrtlewood is a small, family-operated Merino farm, located in the Northern Midlands of Tasmania. Myrtlewood is situated in a national biodiversity hotspot, boasting some of the last remnant Epping Forest vegetation, an area notorious for bushranger activity throughout the early 1800's.
In 2007, we purchased Myrtlewood and began our journey as sheep farmers. Over the years, we have run Corriedale and Polwarth sheep for mixed meat and wool production, before discovering a love for the Merino sheep and their lustrous, versatile and sustainable fibre.
Our aims are to run a self-replacing superfine Merino flock on semi-improved pastures while regenerating the landscape and waterways throughout the property for the generations to come.
